Tonight, the national final for the Ukraine was held. 14 acts fought for the ticket to Moscow, and it was decided at the end of the night that Svetlana Loboda would go to Eurovision with her song Be My Valentine.

На «Евровидение» в Москву от Украины поедет Светлана Лобода. Исполнительница была выбрана для участия в «Евровидении-2009» большинством голосов телезрителей и членов жюри: она набрала 28 из 30 возможных баллов.

The winning song was decided by a mixture of half televoting/half jury. The complete results at the end of the night were:

Svetlana is a 26 year old Ukrainian who is best known for her hit song Mishka.Her first solo album, entitled Ti ne zabudesh (You do not forget) was released in November of 2005. She will be performing in semi-final 2 in Moscow.
